The MCMS PTO Board is loOKING TO FILL SEVERAL POSITIONS FOR THE 2026-2027 pto bOARD. Many of these positions are co-chair roles where you will be working directly with BOARD MEMBERS WHO HAVE SPENT MULTIPLE YEARS AS MCMS BOARD MEMBERS. 

Treasurer-Elect

The Treasurer-Elect shall assume the office of Treasurer at the expiration of term, attend all Executive Board and General PTO meetings, act as an aide to the Treasurer, perform all duties of the Treasurer in the absence or inability of the Treasurer to serve, and become intimately acquainted with the finances of the MCMS PTO. The Treasurer-Elect shall also reconcile the petty cash box monthly and submit check request form to the Treasurer to replenish petty cash, receive any monies for the organization and deposit them in a timely manner into a bank approved by the Executive Board, deposit receive and maintain a copy of the deposit slip for any deposit made, periodically review the Treasurer records, and maintain a binder or online documentation with Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) for the purpose of guiding and training a successor to the position.

Fundraising Committee 

The Fundraising Committee Chair/Co-Chair shall be responsible for submitting Fundraising requests via the approved district platform. The Fundraising Committee Chair/Co-Chair shall also assist and oversee subgroups in identifying possible fundraising opportunities. Additionally, the Fundraising Chair is responsible for coordinating the Invest In Your Maverick Campaign, generally held in August and September of each school year, as well as the Silent Auction associated with March Mavness/Spring Event each school year. The Committee Chair and any elected Co-Chair shall work together to help achieve the fundraising goals of the MCMS PTO.  

 

Events Committee

The Events Committee Chair and any elected Co-Chair are responsible for the two main events the PTO hosts each year: Mav Monster Mash, generally held in October, and the March Mavness Student vs. Teacher basketball game. Any changes to the type or scope of the two major Events shall be voted on by the Board at least 3 months before the fundraising request is submitted to the District for the event.  The Events Chair is also working with the President and Faculty on the PTO portion of Spring Day, generally held in May.  

 

Projects Committee

The Projects Committee Chair and any elected Co-Chair shall be responsible for coordinating with the MCMS SGA on the homecoming float design and build of the float, as well as a trailer and driver for the float. The Projects Chair shall also be responsible for the eighth-grade promotion, including publishing programs, coordinating decorations, food, etc. They will also work with Mill Creek Elementary and Nolensville Elementary volunteers to ensure that Celebration/Promotion week events conducted on the MCMS campus are organized. Additionally, the Projects Chair is responsible for coordinating concessions for Mav Monster Mash, Quarterly Celebrations, March MAVness, or any Spring PTO Event, Spring Day/Field Day, and SGA Events as available. 


Volunteer Committee

The Volunteer Committee Chair and any elected Co-Chair will create volunteer SignUps throughout the school year. The final decision about volunteer workers and schedules will be the sole responsibility of the Executive Board members. 

 

The PTO is not responsible for determining volunteer eligibility pursuant to Williamson County’s Volunteer Policy. However, the Volunteer Committee Chair will encourage parents to become Tier III certified. They will also educate the school community on the process of becoming a Williamson County school volunteer. In addition, the Volunteer Committee Chair will assist with staffing various volunteer activities as needed throughout the year.

 

CLASS LIAiSONS 

 

This role is new to MCMS in the 2025-2026 school year. Class Liaisons are required to attend PTO meetings and events, but are non-voting members of the Board. They are there to support PTO operations, disseminate information to their grade-level families, and learn how our MCMS PTO Board operates, with the assumption that they will take on a Board role the following Board year. Consider yourself like a "Room Parent" for the entire grade. We will take a max of two (2) Class Liaisons for 6th and 7th grade ONLY.
